About Me

My name is Tyler Ramsey.  I am 17 years old and I live in Alabama.  I enjoy shooting my firearms and collecting Nazi, Soviet, East German, and Vietnam era Militaria. I like to collect Nazi, Soviet, East German, and Vietnam era related items because of their historical value and relevance to such a confusing and quickly paced time in our history.  It really bothers me that people today do not appreciate or realize the importance of what veterans of ALL countries, have had to sacrifice and endure to fight for their country and what they believed in.  Weather they were German, American, Japanese, Soviet, etc. they were all foot soldiers and endured the hell of combat. These veterans of all countries, have given their time, commitment, expertise, and for some, their lives, and people today can't even take the time to learn when and where it happened.  My collection and my interest in this area, merely represent my true appreciation for their service to their country. I treat the items in my collection with the highest honor, because for some of the men that these items represent, it's the only existing evidence that that person went through the horrible experiences of WWII combat. I often wonder who wore my helmets, uniform, and medals. Who used my Mauser and Luger. Who were these people, and what were their experiences? Sadly my items do not talk. I can only read what they tell me, which usually isn't much. Sometimes I'll catch a glimpse of the person who once owned one of my items. For example my Luger has rubbings on the right side of the grip where you can tell where the tips of the fingers, and the base of the palm were. There leads me to believe he was left handed. Items like this often transport me back in time into my imagination, and I wonder what these items have seen. Items from history, from all points of view, and all stops in time, deserve to be remembered. One day we will go the path of the ancients, and I often wonder, how future generations will remember us if we do not remember the past?
