The Infantry Assault Badge

For the Silver award was instituted for the infantry on 20.12.39, the Bronze on 1.6.40 to reward the members of the motorized infantry.

The criteria were as follows:
Silver Award:

To have taken part in three or more infantry assaults.
To have taken part in three or more infantry counter-attacks or the combination of this and the above.
To have taken part in three or more armed reconnaissance operations.
To have been engaged in hand to hand combat in an assault position.
To have participated on three separate days in the reinstitution of combat positions.

Bronze Award:

To have taken part in three or more motorized infantry assaults.

To have taken part in three or more motorized infantry counter-attacks or the combination of this and the above.

To have taken part in three or more motorized and armed reconnaissance operations.

To have been engaged in hand to hand combat in a motorized assault position.

To have participated on three separate days in the restitution of the motorized combat position.
