The Mp-40 Caliber: 9x19mm Luger/Para
The Mp-40, often called the Schmeisser was one of the most affective weapons that the Germans used for its infantry. It was designed by a German engineer named Follmer at the Erma factory. There was an earlier model named the MP-38, but 2 years later it was replaced by the MP-40. The only difference in the two weapons was that one had a Milled out receiver and the MP-40 had a stamped receiver which made it much more lighter. This weapon utilizes a folding stock mechanism on the end of the receiver, which suggests that it was first made for Tank crews and such, but was later adopted by the Infantry. It uses an open bolt system, you would think because of this it would jam, but surprisingly in almost never jams. It does not have a Semi-auto firing switch, meaning in can only fire on full-auto. The only draw back I can see to this weapon is that during full-auto firing for long periods of time, you could very easily burn your hand if your hand accidentally slid from the magazine well, to the barrel.
